Melanie and I arrived in Helsinki a few days ago and in Kuopio Finland on New Year’s Eve. while in Helsinki we had a chance to head to Suomenlinna a sea fortress created by the Swedish government in the 1750’s. We also visited a church that was carved into glacial rock in Helsinki. We also saw several people taking a dip in the Helsinki harbor. Here in Kuopio it’s in the 20’s with snow expected later today. The view from our apartment gives you an idea of local conditions.
